Hospitality and hotel management are very closely aligned. Although a lot of people think that they both are the same the truth is not in consonance with this notion. Hospitality is a wider sector. In fact, the niche of hotel management is incorporated under this discipline.
There are about four different sections under Hospitality which include Lodging & Accommodation, Travel & Tourism, Recreation, and Food & Beverages. So, Hospitality Management is all about knowing how to generously receive guests/patrons and visitors. Hospitality is an industry altogether under the banner of which lies Hotel Management.
Hotel management falls under the lodging & accommodation section of the industry. In hotel management, the main concern is to provide the visitors/guests first-rate hotel experience and help them feel at home. Also, hotel management takes care of transport facilities, food, and everything. This is just like hospitality but it is only restricted to hotels. On the other hand, the hospitality industry includes a lot more departments.
If you are going for a hospitality degree, you will be taught about a whole lot of different sectors and the ways in which the hospitality can be managed in those. Whereas, choosing a hotel management degree would instill the expertise of a niche into the candidates. This way one becomes a broader scope and another becomes a narrow sector.
